In a sign of hope, the United Nations Security Council collectively voted to support a US-proposed Israel-Gaza ceasefire plan, with only the Russian Federation abstaining (their personal vengeance against the Americans is of greater importance than the civilians of Gaza). The mandate serves as a positive notion, as only discourse between nations will formulate a resolution to the ongoing conflict. However, the major conundrum is that the 14 members will now have to cajole both the Israeli government and Hamas to agree upon the term; this is where the challenge in actuality begins.
